LEAD VOCALS Born in North Carolina, Amy has been performing since childhood. Her strongest influence comes from her mother who sang country and played guitar. Her mother gave up her musical career to raise Amy and her mentally handi- capped brother. This sacrifice only fuels Amy's spirit to reach her audience. Amy began in gospel finding comfort in the genre's soulful and emotional arrangements. It was not long after that she began to take interest into soul, classic rock and most of all blues. Turning away from formal vocal training, Amy is self schooled through experience, practice and, as she puts it, "generous free advice from successful vocalists I admire." However in 2007 she turned to the unorthodox yet successful vocal coaching of Naomi Kerr to expand on her skill and style. She put her musical focus into Hybrid Groove around the summer of 2000 wanting to develop a band that played expressive and exciting blues rock.
